In 2013, we were invited to join the Phoenix Advisory Board for The Salvation Army. We quickly learned that The Army had to pay bell ringers during the week because volunteers only wanted to ring on weekends. Real Estate Wednesday was born. That first year more than 1196 agents, lenders, title offices and affiliates raised $114,000 and saved The Army $85,000 by not having to pay ringers. To date, Real Estate Wednesday has raised and saved The Salvation Army more than $1.6 million dollars. Callaway Realty agents are encouraged to ring the bells, recommend donation of unwanted items when clients move and to make a cash donation on every closing.
